Bike Locker Users' Club
Join the Bike Locker User’s Club (BLUC) parking scheme to access any locker in the club and use your bike to travel to train stations, bus stops and Metrolink stations in Greater Manchester.
How does it work?Firstly you will need to join the club. Click here to download the BLUC application form.
Before joining ensure your bike will fit into the lockers. Lockers at train and bus stations are rectangular in shape and stand upwards on their smallest end. They are 68 cm wide, 110 cm deep and 190 cm high. Metrolink stops have a mix of locker types both vertical (as above) and horizontal which measure 78 cm wide, 208 cm long and 143 cm high.
When you join you will get a key that will open any BLUC locker. When you want to use a BLUC locker here's what you do:
This is Transport for Greater Manchester's Bike Locker Users Club which operates at selected train, tram and bus stations across Greater Manchester.
If you want to use a bike storage locker at specific train, tram and bus stations you must join the club. This is the only way to gain access to the lockers
Phone Transport for Greater Manchester on 0161 244 1000 or email us at email@example.com and we will send you an application form, or download a copy - complete the form and send it with proof of identity e.g. a utilities bill, to the address shown.
Initial membership is for two years.
The cost is £10 (payable to Transport for Greater Manchester) for the first two years - then renewals are free after that.
Once you have joined the club we will send you a padlock key through the post. This will open any of the Transport for Greater Manchester padlocks that you will find on the empty lockers at train, Metrolink tram and bus stations.
No - you use the first available empty locker at the station of your choice. The BLUC works on a shared use system, rather like a car park.
Yes - you must use your own padlock at all times when your bike is inside one of our lockers. This ensures that no one else can gain access to the locker and more importantly to your bicycle!
At all times when your bike is in the locker.
When you have finished with the locker and you have removed your bike, you must put the Transport for Greater Manchester padlock back on the locker so that another BLUC member can use the facility when you are not using it.
At selected train, tram and bus stations across Greater Manchester.
The Transport for Greater Manchester padlock key gives you access to any of the empty lockers in the BLUC area. Your padlock key will open any of the empty lockers.
Contact Transport for Greater Manchester on 0161 244 1000 to arrange for a new key to be sent to you – a small charge may be levied.
You must not do this. This stops other people from using the locker when it is empty. Transport for Greater Manchester reserves the right to remove your padlock from the locker. You may be charged for this work or have your club membership suspended.
If your padlock is attached to the locker, this should not happen. The only people who are authorised to inspect the contents of your locker when you are using it are the station staff.
The station staff will be responsible for cleaning on a day to day basis.
Contact BLUC at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you choose to give up your membership, please contact us email@example.com to make arrangements to drop off your key or return your key and membership card to TfGM, 2 Piccadilly Place, Manchester M1 3BG.
